Renewable energy statistics - Issue number 56/2010 - Products Statistics in Focus
The renewables energy Directive 2009/28/EC covers renewable energy use in three sectors:
1. Gross final consumption of electricity from renewable energy sources;
2. Gross final consumption of energy from renewable sources for heating and cooling; and
3. Final consumption of energy from renewable sources in transport.
This 'Statistics in focus' publication provides an overview of data currently available used to provide an estimate of the main renewable energy indicators in each of the three sectors, the electricity, heating and the transport sector. Detailed statistics presented here were reported to Eurostat by national statistical authorities. The methodology used for the calculation of renewable energy indicators is included in this publication.
