From 31/05 to 04/06
The issues of poverty and social exclusion, among other themes, will be addressed at ‘Foundation Week’ that the European Foundation Centre is holding from 31 May-4 June 2010 in Brussels. Foundation Week aims to provide a platform for foundation practitioners, European Union institutions, other actors in civil society, and the general public to engage with one another. It includes Open Days for the public and other stakeholders in the run-up to the EFC’s Annual General Assembly (AGA) and Conference.
There will be many different activities, including thematic meetings, debates and exhibitions. Several of the thematic events that will take place during the Week will deal with a number of specific areas (e.g. education, health, migration, disaster response) and groups (the elderly, women, youth, Roma) and look at poverty from various perspectives. A number of events dealing specifically with poverty, social change and social justice are also planned.
