The Urban Agenda for the EU has significantly progressed in the past month. The launch of the Public Feedback represents an important step for the four pilot Partnerships. This Public Feedback, together with the Background Papers, are open to contributions from all stakeholders.

The Partnerships’ work itself has also moved forward. The Partnership on Air Quality successfully organised its first first Stakeholders Workshop in London on 13 June, where its preliminary results were presented. In parallel, most Partnerships held internal meetings. Besides, on 21-22 June, a coordinators meeting held in Brussels allowed the Partnership coordinators to share their experiences and plan the next steps.

Last but not least, a joint Public Hearing devoted to the state of play of the Urban Agenda was organised on 29 June by the Committee on Regional Development of the European Parliament and the Commission for Territorial Cohesion Policy and EU budget of the Committee of the Regions. This hearing embodies the collaboration between European institutions on the Urban Agenda, which is crucial to embed the process politically.

The Urban Agenda process is picking up pace. Make sure to take part in the Public Feedback and provide your input to the Partnerships’ work! We will be back in September with a new edition of this newsletter.
