Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) do not always fully consider or address the value of intellectual property (IP). However, in today's knowledge-driven economy, it plays a pivotal role in daily business decisions. This virtual session aims to introduce you to the fundamentals of IP and demonstrate how it can be leveraged as a valuable business asset.
As IP assets are constantly growing, they should be used effectively. Accumulated IP assets can be the armour that protects a company from competitors in the market, but also a powerful weapon to initiate attacks. In this online session, European IP Helpdesk expert Dr Christian Hackl will reflect on different facets of the IP assement process. Typically involving a systematic and scientific examination and evaluation of IP resources, it also allows companies to determine whether their IP is adequately protected and whether it currently provides a competitive advantage or might be used as such in the future.
As intellectual property (IP) assets continue to expand, it is paramount to use them efficiently. These accumulated IP assets can act as a protective "shield", safeguarding the company from market competitors. They can also serve as powerful tools for initiating strategic actions and gaining advantages in the marketplace. This webinar will offer valuable insights into the critical steps involved in IP assessment and highlight the significance of this process.
