Statistical aspects of the energy economy in 2008 - Issue number 55/2009 - Products Statistics in Focus

This publication provides a first overview of the energy economy in 2008 based on monthly cumulated data for each EU Member State. Production and consumption trends are outlined for the principal energy commodities – oil, natural gas, solid fuels, nuclear and primary electrical energy. Main indicators such as energy dependence rate and energy intensity are presented. In addition, heating degree days calculated on the basis of a common Eurostat methodology are also included.
