Drupal 8 site deployments - deadline extended to 19 January (02/12/2021)
Following multiple requests from business owners, the deadline to perform Drupal 8 site deployments in the Drupal hosting pipeline is extended to 19 January 2022. As of 20 January Drupal 8 sites can stay live for a few months but no new deployments will be possible. Therefore, Drupal 8 sites should upgrade to Drupal 9 as soon as possible before that date.
Upgrade of databases impacting Data Center production sites from 10 to 16 November (29/10/2021)
Drupal sites hosted in DIGIT Data Center production environments will be impacted by the upgrade of databases to MySQL 5.7.35 that will be done in batches from 10 to 16 November.
Upgrade of site databases impacting Data Center acceptance environments on 21 October (19/10/2021)
Databases of all Drupal sites hosted in DIGIT Data Center acceptance environments will be upgraded to MySQL 5.7.35 on 21 October. This will cause unavailability of acceptance environments during 20 minutes per site on that day (exact timing for each environment not known). Unavailability of the environments can lead to errors in the deployments, which might require a restart.
Upgrade of Ubuntu impacting AWS production sites from 1 to 5 November (19/10/2021)
Drupal sites hosted in DIGIT AWS cloud production environments are going to be upgraded to Ubuntu 20.4 from 1 to 5 November, in batches. On the specific date notified via Jira to impacted site owners, the backend of the site will be unavailable from 22.00 to 23.00 and the site is expected to be down for five minutes.
Projects currently using Drupal 9 or migrating to Drupal 9 should use Toolkit 8.x. However, due to unexpected issues in the upgrade to Toolkit 8.x, Drupal 8 projects should continue in Toolkit 4.x. Drupal 7 projects should upgrade as soon as possible to a newer version of Drupal (8 or 9) before 1 December 2022. After that date no deployments will be possible for Drupal 7 sites.
The new version of Toolkit is now available. All projects should update as soon as possible in order to be ready to update to Drupal 9. Learn more about the main changes and how to update to Toolkit 8.x.
Upgrade to Varnish FPFIS 1.0 version on all production AWS cloud environments as of 20 September (10/09/2021)
The upgrade will be done in batches so please check the planned date for your site´s cluster.
The upgrade will start at 7.30 and finish at 8.00. You can expect a maximum downtime of 10 minutes on your site´s production environment and 10 minutes of downtime in case of rollback. We advise you not to deploy your site during the upgrade.
Pipeline blocker step for Drupal 8 sites (12/09/2021)
As announced in the newsletter of 29 June, a new blocker step will be inserted in the pipeline for all Drupal 8 sites as of 15 October. It will block deployment with possibility of bypass in order to raise awareness of the need to upgrade to Drupal 9. From 1 December, no new deployments for Drupal 8 sites will be possible: sites will need to upgrade to Drupal 9 in order to proceed with a deployment.
Check the list of OpenEuropa components that have now a Drupal 9 compatible version. You are welcome to report any issues when using them on your project.
