New services

New First Support Level for DIGIT Drupal hosting

A new First Support Level for the Drupal hosting service is in place to centralise and better manage the support requests from Europa sites hosted in DIGIT. Support requestors are welcome to open tickets into the new JIRA board DROPSEC (DRupal OPerational SECurity). The First Support Level team will deal with them directly or assign them to the Quality Assurance and DevOps teams, now becoming Support Level II, for deeper investigation when needed.

Quality Assurance procedure for Drupal module package reviews

The Quality Assurance team within the DIGIT Drupal hosting service cares about the security and stability of the hosted Europa projects. They actively monitor and control the usage of Drupal modules that are allowed to be delivered to DIGIT infrastructure to ensure compatibility, security, compliance with European Commission rules and promoting best practices. Learn how to use packages in a Drupal application hosted in DIGIT, how to request module evaluation and more.

Planned maintenance

Maintenance impacting deployments on 24 February

The Drupal infrastructure related with deployments will be in maintenance mode on 24 February from 6.00 to 8.00 AM due to a version upgrade of Gitlab.
The expected impact during this time frame is:

No deployments will be possible on Gitlab and Drone
Unavailability of access to Gitlab services

It provides technical information to professionals involved in the creation and/or management of public information websites hosted under the europa.eu domain, in particular, those websites using the Europa Web Publishing Platform or Open Europa (based on Drupal technology) and related Webtools services.

The information on this newsletter does not require any action from owners of sites built with the Europa Web Publishing Platform. As product owner, DG COMM will contact those site owners for action when necessary.
