The new guide replaces the internal version and incorporates extensive feedback, making its approach highly relevant not only to the European Institutions but also to the external community.

The Women4Cyber initiative, founded by 30 women-leaders in IT and cyber security from public and private organisations, was launched at the European Cyber Security Organisation in Brussels. Gertrud Ingestad, Director-General of DG Informatics, is among the founding members of the initiative, established under the patronage of Commissioner Mariya Gabriel.
The European Commission has announced the awards for its innovative open source bug bounty programme. Software developers, who find security vulnerabilities in the selected open source software, will be awarded between EUR 3,000 and EUR 25,000 for critical bugs. Additionally, 20% bonus will be offered for providing a fix for the detected vulnerability.
The European Commission's Directorate-General for Informatics (DIGIT) and the State Agency for e-Governance of Ukraine (SAEGU)agreed on enhanced cooperation through exchange of best practices in the field of digital public administrations. The European Commission's Open Source Observatory (OSOR), supported by ISA², will hold a two-hour session at the Paris Open Source Summit 2018 on 5 December. It will be dedicated to security and national policies on the use of open source software in public administrations.

The European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA), the European Defence Agency (EDA), Europol and the Computer Emergency Response Team for the EU Institutions, Agencies and Bodies (CERT-EU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a cooperation framework between their organisations.
The European Commission's Directorate-General for Informatics (DIGIT) has started closer cooperation with Uruguay's Agency for Electronic Government and Information and Knowledge Society (AGESIC). DIGIT and AGESIC agreed to cooperate in IT, open platforms, standards and methods where these concern interoperability solutions and common frameworks for public administrations.
The European Commission launches a public call for tenders seeking bug bounty platform providers for its EU-FOSSA 2 project. From 14 April 2018 until 24 May 2018 companies can apply to run the EU-FOSSA 2 bug bounties later this year.
On the 8th of March, Commissioner Gabriel hosted a discussion on cyber skills and women talents in cyber security in DIGIT. The event was also the occasion to reward senior managers for being advocates for the Cyber Aware Programme.
Commissioner Gabriel made a tour and met with staff members in DIGIT's headquarters Black Pearl - an example of a modern office design and digital workplace which allows more flexibility and collaboration in open space.
