Workshop on Industrial Technologies for Regional Growth

Synergies between EU funding for research & innovation and structural funds are essential to develop regional research and innovation capacities, and drive the economic growth in Europe.

The EC is organising a workshop to support this smart specialisation (RIS3) and to encourage dialogue and exchange of ideas between the different stakeholders.

 
I-ESA 2016: Enterprise Interoperability in the digitized and networked Factory of the Future

INTEROP-VLab, the International Virtual European Laboratory for Enterprise Interoperability, and the University of Minho (PT) jointly organize the 8th International Conference on Interoperability for Enterprise Systems and Applications (I-ESA’16), in Guimarães (PT).

I-ESA is the official conference of INTEROP-VLab, supported by the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP).

 
NMBP Work Programme Preparation for 2018 - 2020

Interesting data is available about the results of ongoing PCPs funded by FP7. Data shows first impacts on opening the market for new players, creating cross-border growth opportunities for companies, bringing research results to the market and contribution to growth and job creation in Europe.

 
Call for stakeholder endorsement of the Quantum Manifesto

The Quantum Manifesto is a call to launch an ambitious European initiative in quantum technologies, needed to ensure Europe’s leading role in a technological revolution now under way. The Manifesto is now available online for collecting stakeholder endorsement, before its official release during the Quantum Europe Conference in May 2016.

 
European Manufacturing Cluster Expert Workshop

The FOCUS project consortium has invited ten industrial experts from outside Europe to speak about the current and future research priorities of the European manufacturing sector.

The programme includes sessions on:

  • 4ZDM-Zero Defect Manufacturing;

  • High Precision Manufacturing;

The Research Executive Agency (REA), in cooperation with the EC's DG for Communications Networks, Content & Technology, is organising an Information Day on the calls for proposals to be launched in 2016 by the Future and Emerging Technologies Open (FET Open) and the topic ‘Emerging themes and communities’ of the FET Proactive schemes.

The FET Proactive call "Boosting emerging technologies" of the FET Work Programme 2016-2017 has 3 topics: "Emerging themes and communities" (deadline April 2016, check more information below); "FET ERANET Cofund in Quantum Technologies" (deadline April 2016);"FET ERANET Cofund" (to be opened for proposals submission in September 206).
There is also a dedicated call for proposals on High Performance Computing (which will be opened for proposals submission in April 2016).

 
Manufuture 2015 - Strategic investments in European manufacturing to rise to global challenges.

The EU has defined a strategic objective to boost re-industrialisation and increase the manufacturing industry’s current GDP contribution of approximately 16% to as much as 20%. In order to succeed, it is essential to optimise the use of key instruments such as the European Structural and Investment Funds and Horizon 2020 and widen the access to finance for new manufacturing ventures as well as established companies with high growth potential on global level.
