ERA-Can+ Information Session

The Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI) together with all Universities in Graz and supported by the Canadian Embassy to Austria, are delighted to present an ERA-Can+ Information Session in Graz, Austria.

The information session features presentations of Canadian STI funding programmes open to Europeans, collaboration opportunities for companies (e.g.: under EUREKA), and specific possibilities for Austrian researchers and innovators to cooperate with Canadian counterparts.

 
Empowering EU-Japan Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation

This seminar will address the recent policy developments and programmes to facilitate Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) cooperation between Europe and Japan. A report will be presented on joint and Japanese research programmes that could facilitate Europe-Japan cooperation.

In addition, three key Japanese research funding agencies will present various tools and programmes open to European researchers, companies and organisations.

 
Final Conference and Workshop of the Silver project

The Conference will share the SILVER experience with Pre-Commercial Procurement as an innovative tool for bringing new care technologies to the market. Participants will have an opportunity to hear from both procurers and contractors involved in the project’s Pre-Commercial Procurement exercise. Also, the successful robotic solution – the Lean Elderly Assistant (LEA) – will be presented by its designers, Robot Care Systems. Silver is co-funded by the Seventh Framework Programme for research.

Access to finance can be difficult for companies in environmental sectors due to limited information or understanding of new business models or the issues driving them. In addition, there are also challenges in getting from innovation to the market.

Therefore, reliable access to a variety of funding sources is crucial for European companies in green sectors and for the development of the circular economy.

The Informal Group of RTD Liaison Offices (IGLO) is holding its annual SPRING RECEPTION 2016 on 1 June 2016 in the Palais des Académies in Brussels. This year´s edition is entitled 'Can Europe deliver on innovation? Practitioner and policy perspectives'. European Research and Innovation policy is at a crucial point with the upcoming interim evaluation of Horizon 2020 and an ambitious plan to possibly consolidate the innovation instruments within a European Innovation Council (EIC).

H2020 European Health/Rare Diseases Brokerage Event

A Nordic-French Event will be organized on 12-13 May, 2016, at the premises of the Research Council of Norway, to present and discuss the upcoming H2020 calls on rare diseases in the 2017 call from the Societal Challenge 1 – Health, demographic change and wellbeing programme.

The objective is to generate more H2020 applications targeting these calls. The seminar is open to all parties interested in rare diseases.

 
Adaptation Futures

Adaptation Futures is the biennial conference of the Global Programme of Research on Climate Change Vulnerability, Impacts and Adaptation (PROVIA).

In 2016, the European Commission and the Government of the Netherlands will be co-hosting the fourth edition.
