Science: How Close to Open?

This event will look into the present and future of intellectual property boundaries in chemistry research and will debate questions such as: Which model for peer-review publishing? Who owns research data and how to share it? Which approach is better for creating innovative products and services?

Together with researchers, publishers, EU and government officials EuCheMS intends to build bridges between all concerned and to provide answers to questions.

 
Debate on the Seal of Excellence

The Czech Liaison Office for Research, Development and Innovation and the Czech Business Representation to the EU in Brussels are holding a debate on the Seal of Excellence. The debate will take place at the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU on 4 April 2016.

The aim of this debate is to discuss national and regional schemes for the Seal of Excellence and share experiences on creating synergies between Horizon 2020 and the European structural and investment funds.

 
Innovative Enterprise Conference

Innovative Enterprise is an initiative by the European Commission to raise awareness of the European Union’s investment programme, such as InnovFin and the European Fund for Strategic Investments, instruments at national and local level as well as alternative sources of finance, such as crowd funding.

Human Brain Project: Platform Release Event

The Human Brain Project (HBP) is planning an online release event (30 March) to present the first components, services and tools of its six ICT Platforms to the scientific community (platforms on Neuroinformatics, Brain Simulation, High Performance Analytics and Computing, Medical Informatics, Neuromorphic Computing and Neurorobotics.) There will be a live stream via AdobeConnect Webcast. More info will be made available on the HBP website in due course.

School on Neurotechniques 2016

In its 2016 edition, the School on Neurotechniques, organised by the CSNII (Convergent Science Network for Biomimetics and Neurotechnology) FET project, will offer an overview on advanced electrical- and light-based recording methods of neuronal excitability, focusing on those that are most relevant for the investigation of neural networks ‘in vitro’ and ‘in vivo’ and for application in neuroprosthetics.
