The Forum had three thematic sessions focusing on topics of particular importance to the EU tourism sector:
- Taxation
- Collaborative Economy
- Digital Transformation
The event was opened by several high-level speeches from:
- the Slovak Minister of Transport, Construction and Regional Development, Mr Arpád Érsek
- the Commissioner for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, Ms Elżbieta Bieńkowska
- the Maltese Minister for Tourism, Mr Edward Zammit Lewis
- the Member of the European Parliament responsible for the EP Tourism Task Force, Mr István Ujhelyi
- and the UNWTO Executive Director for Programme and Coordination, Mr Zoltan Somogyi.
The official opening was followed by a high-level opening debate where ministerial representatives from Lithuania, Bulgaria, Portugal, Poland and Greece exchanged views on the current challenges in the European tourism sector and the joint promotion of Europe as a tourist destination.
The Forum gathered around 170 high-level public and private tourism stakeholders.
