Scientific seminar - Science for Policy and Operations

The newly established Disaster Risk Management Knowledge Centre (DRMKC) is organising its first seminar, to address aspects of Disaster Risk Management, such as risk assessments, early warning, and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.

 
Strengthening Global Food and Nutrition Security through research and innovation - lessons learned from Expo 2015

The EU Expo Taskforce of the JRC is organising an international conference to close the scientific programme of activities at Expo Milano 2015. Taking place just one day before World Food Day, it will offer a platform where international actors from politics, the scientific community, industry, and civil society can discuss the recommendations for a "European Research and Innovation Agenda for Global Food and Nutrition Security" that have been produced by the EU scientific steering committee for Expo 2015.

 
JRC Geel site: Open Day/Open bedrijvendag 2015

On Sunday 4 October 2015, the JRC's Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements (IRMM) opens its doors and celebrates its 55th birthday together with the general public.

Registration opens on 7 September 2015. 

 
JRC Annual Lecture: Transitions in global land and water resilience

The first JRC annual lecture will be opened by European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, Tibor Navracsics, and delivered by Alan Belward, head of the JRC's land resource management unit, with Claudia Olazabal, head of DG Environment's agriculture, forests and soil unit as discussant.
