Available display options

Data can be displayed using the following views:

  • table
  • line chart
  • bar chart
  • map

Users can select and change the view by clicking on the tabs presented in the data display section of each dataset:

For most options, several possibilities are available to tailor the data display.

For example for the table view, one can swap the axis, change the layout configuration, set the number format etc. For further details, please consult our chapters on how to manage tables, line charts, bar charts, and maps.

Reset to default view

If users wish to reset the view back to the default state of the dataset, meaning the way the dataset appeared when first opened, this can be done by clicking on the 'Default view' button located on the right-hand side above the data display section:

Resetting the view sets all settings back to default, including the visualisation mode. Users are asked to confirm again that they want to reset the dataset to its default view as this action cannot be undone.

Display limitations

The Data Browser is not able to display datasets which contain more than 750 000 cells. A cell has to be understood as any statistical data, including 'no data available' data.

If a user attempts to display such dataset, an error message will be displayed: 'The current estimated cube size is above the limit of 750 000 cells. This may impact the speed of data rendering. It is recommended to use one of the datasets or to create a custom dataset'.

Alternatively, you can either create a custom dataset or download statistical data and structural items.
