Eurostat has published an open call for proposals on the “Preparatory work for the modernisation of public sector financial accounting systems on an accruals basis”.

This action aims at providing financial support for the Member States to carry out work linked to the modernisation of their public sector financial accounting systems under the accruals basis of accounting with a view to the eventual implementation of European Public Sector Accounting Standards (EPSAS).

The call for proposal is aimed primarily at Member States that do not as yet apply accruals accounting across the public sector, but applications are also invited from those already using accruals or are preparing for such a reform.

Eurostat is looking forward to receiving applications from Member States' public sector accounting regulators. Eligible are, in particular, public sector standard-setting authorities and those public entities which have a responsibility for leading or coordinating the implementation of public sector accounting standards across or between general government sub-sectors.

The deadline for submitting applications is 16/06/2017.
