Skilled biologist, Carlos Jimenez Criado, was struggling with difficult economic odds in Spain. The European Social Fund helped him to follow his passion to work in cancer research and finish his PhD. Over the last five years, Carlos built up his skills and now works as a biology teacher, inspiring others. Thanks to the help he received, Carlos has a gratifying career. This film is about ordinary people beating the odds with well-timed ESF support to change lives both professionally and socially.
