You can follow the debate between scientists and experts on policy recommendations of the Group of Chief Scientific Advisors informed by SAPEA Evidence Review Report in the view of the Commission proposal for updating cancer screening guidelines, submitted on 20 September 2022 to the Council of the European Union.
The Directorate-General for Research and Innovation has introduced enhanced dialogues with Member States. So far, four high-level meetings have taken place with Croatia, Czechia, Greece, Lithuania and Poland to kick-start the conversation. The participants included not just ministries, but also municipalities and private stakeholders. The topics covered R&I policy reforms, ERA policy actions, the New European Innovation Agenda, synergies between Horizon Europe and Cohesion Policy programmes, and Horizon Europe Missions and Partnerships. These talks led to the definition of new PSF exercises, as well as increased commitment to policy actions in the European Research Area. The end goal is to start engaging in dialogue with all EU Member States.

In 2020, there were 1.89 million researchers (in FTE) working in the EU, 546 thousand more compared with 2010.In 2021, there were more than 17 million scientists and engineers in the EU, an increase of 6.9% in comparison with 2020.
