Market consultation - innovative test methods for better pandemic preparedness

The P3DX programme financed by the Dutch ministry of welfare, health and sports invites potentially interested bidders to participate on 4 November 2024 in the open market consultation for their upcoming pre-commercial procurement. Aim is to improve the prepardness for future pandemics by getting innovative testmethods developed that improve the time, test quality, cost efficiency and widescale deployability for pathogen detection.

 
Upcoming innovation procurement on digital healthcare in Amsterdam

The Municipality of Amsterdam and Amsterdam University Medical Center, in cooperation with the Amsterdam Health Technology Institute (AHTI), will procure together several innovative digital services: (1) A platform as an online digital front door for routing citizens with health-related questions to the best wellbeing/healthcare professionals with the use of generative AI. (2) Personal dataspaces for collecting and sharing health and wellbeing data. (3) Story Builder (from data to visual information) for constructing a personalized story of a citizen’s health and wellbeing that can be shared with professionals. The upcoming open market consultation and further preparation of the procurement is supported by the European Assistance For Innovation Procurement.

 
Innovation procurement on AI for natural disaster prevention in Greece under the way

In cooperation with the Greek Ministry of Climate Crises and Civil Protection and the Fire Brigade, the main central purchase body for digital solutions in Greece (INFOSOC) is preparing an innovation procurement to obtain better prediction models for natural disasters (fires and floods) based on real sensor and historical data. This is also the first innovation procurement implemented by a European Digital Innovation Hub. The upcoming open market consultation and further preparation of the procurement is supported by the European Assistance For Innovation Procurement.

What innovative startups and scaleups want from public procurement

The session organised by the CIVITAS Initiative's New Mobility Services community at the Week of regions and cities was inspiring. Heartbreaking to hear all the barriers that deter startups and scaleups from bidding with innovative solutions for public procurements, but luckily they also had some ideas on how to get beyond doing just some piloting with public authorities and really scale up their business with actual sales contracts. Interestingly several of their requests coincide with recommendations from the Letta and Draghi reports, although there are also extra things on their wish-list.

Consortium Agreement for Disruptive Technologies Innovation

Ireland’s Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund (DTIF) invests €500 million in the development of such technologies by supporting start-up activities and collaborations between the public and private sectors, large firms and SMEs. Its consortium agreement will contribute to a trusting environment necessary for such collaborations.
