Organised in collaboration with the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR), the European Commission's "Blue Invest" conference will take place on 22 September in Brussels. It will be opened by Mr Karmenu Vella, Commissioner for the Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.

The event will allow maritime regions from across the EU to explain how they plan to use EU funds, including the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) and the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI), to boost jobs and growth in the maritime sectors.

It will also give them a chance to team up with other maritime regions and consider coordinating initiatives across borders and sectors, allowing them to reap synergies and save money.

We expect some 200 representatives of EU coastal regions, blue growth stakeholders and EU institutions to attend.
