Latest EFF report shows Member States spending more on sustainable fisheries

The Commission has published the 8th Annual Report on the Implementation of the European Fisheries Fund (EFF), covering EFF implementation in 2014 and up to May 2015.

date:  17/12/2015

The report confirms some trends highlighted in previous reports: Member States are concentrating their spending on processing and aquaculture measures while support for fleet measures (permanent and temporary cessation in particular) has gradually decreased. Support for the 'sustainable development of fishery areas' has made particularly  big progress in the last few years.  While the level of support diverged significantly among the different EFF priorities at the beginning of the programming period, the report shows increasing convergence among the different areas in the last three years.
