On 30 March 2017, the European Commission published the call for proposals for action grants under the 2017 annual work programme of the Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme.

Tomorrow is International Women's Day! This is a good opportunity to promote respect for women's rights, encourage people to fight against discrimination and gender-based violence, and to fully engage both women and men in all aspects of life. Because this is such an important event, the European Commission is marking the occasion in a number of different ways.

Today, the European Commission publishes the first evaluation of how IT companies applied the code of conduct to combat illegal online hate speech. The code was agreed with the IT companies (Facebook, Google (YouTube), Twitter and Microsoft) on 31 May 2016.

The European Forum on the rights of the child is an annual conference organised by the European Commission. It gathers key actors from EU Member States, Ombudspersons for children, international organisations, NGOs, practitioners, academics and EU institutions to discuss and promote good practice on the rights of the child.
