European Commission - Speech - [Check Against Delivery] Brussels, 12 July 2016 Ladies and Gentlemen, I am very pleased to announce that this morning the European Commission has adopted the decision on the EU-US Privacy Shield, the new data protection framework for transatlantic transfers of personal data.
Proposal for a COUNCIL DECISION establishing a Multiannual Framework for the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights for 2018-2022
Today, the European Commission is proposing improvements to the EU rules that protect children in the context of cross-border parental responsibility disputes related to custody, access rights and child abduction. The new rules will speed up the legal and administrative proceedings and ensure that the child's best interest is always taken into account.
