FET Innovation LaunchPad Call closure 14/10/2020 - Apply to transform your project results into more concrete market opportunities

Count down has started for the Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) Innovation LaunchPad call closure on the 14th of October 2020!This call aims to to transform results from Pathfinder/FET funded projects into societal or economic innovations. A lump sum up to EUR 100.000 per project is available to support short actions focused on non-scientific aspects and on turning early stage Pathfinder results into a genuine innovation with socio-economic impacts.

 
Horizon Impact Award 2020: 10 finalists short-listed

The European Commission has announced the 10 projects to reach the final stage of the second edition of Horizon Impact Award – a prize dedicated to EU-funded projects whose results have created societal impact across Europe and beyond. The prize acknowledges and rewards the most influential and impactful project results under Horizon 2020, the EU research and innovation programme, and its predecessor, the 7th Framework programme (FP7, 2007-2013).

 
Coronavirus: EU supports vaccine research with additional €100 million

The Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), a global partnership created in 2017 to develop vaccines to prevent future epidemics, has launched a call to support the rapid development and global manufacture of COVID-19 vaccines. The EU will co-fund the call with €100 million.

First “Green Deal” funding from European Innovation Council awards over €307 million to 64 startups set to support the recovery plan for Europe

The European Innovation Council has awarded over €307 million to 64 game-changing ‘green deal’ start-ups and SMEs contributing to the objectives of the European Green Deal Strategy and the Recovery Plan for Europe. Winning proposals range from innovative solutions for the automotive, aerospace and maritime sectors to advanced materials or Internet of Things technologies.

EU support for New Nordic Life Science Venture Fund - Eir Ventures

Eir Ventures, a Nordic Life Science Venture Fund, today announced a first close of its new Fund of EUR 76m. Eir Ventures will invest in innovative companies with products & technologies addressing significant unmet medical needs and with the potential to improve the life of patients. The fund is launched with, among other investors, a EUR 20m investment from the European Investment Fund, made possible with support from the European Fund for Strategic Investments and InnovFin Equity under H2020.

 
The Commission’s European Innovation Council awards €5 million to blockchain solutions for social innovations

The European Innovation Council (EIC) Prize on Blockchains for Social Good has awarded €5 million to six winners selected in a call to identify scalable, deployable and high-impact blockchain solutions for societal challenges. The winning solutions propose blockchain applications for fair trade and circular economy, increasing transparency in production processes and quality information, improving accountability and contributing to financial inclusion and renewable energy.
