Save the date: World Circular Economy Forum 2017

The European Commission is co-organising the World Circular Economy Forum that will take place on 5 and 6 June 2017, in Helsinki, Finland. The organisation expects 1,200 participants specialised in circular economy solutions for business, cities and finance. You can now apply for an invitation to attend the event.

Financing energy efficiency: the key role of standardisation and benchmarking

We are organising a webinar on 28 June at 11:00 CET aimed at facilitating access to finance for investments and featuring presentations by Steven Fawkes (EnergyPro) on the Investor Confidence Project, and Peter Sweatman (Climate Strategy, rapporteur to the Energy Efficiency Financial Institutions Group) on the latest developments of the Group's work. These developments include the De-risking Energy Efficiency Platform and a guide on the appraisal of energy efficiency investments, both of which will be launched on 22 June at the EU Sustainable Energy Week.

The 1st edition of "Raw Materials Week", organised by the European Commission, will take place in Brussels from Monday 28 November to Friday 2 December 2016 and registrations are open. It will gather a wide range of stakeholders to debate and discuss raw materials policy and initiatives.

 
Circular Economy mission to China

The European Commission invites small and medium-sized companies to join a circular economy delegation to Beijing on 23-25 November 2016. A series of matchmaking meetings will give EU green business the chance to explore business partnerships on eco-innovation, water management and energy-saving solutions.

 
How to address the new global challenges on Earth observation?

Several EU-funded Earth observation projects joined discussions on global Earth observation initiatives at the GEO-XIII plenary on 7-10 November in St. Petersburg. The European Commission is showcasing how it provides support for the implementation of the Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS) through the Copernicus Programme and the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (Horizon 2020).

 
Energy Efficiency Info Day 19 September 2016: Save the date!

There is more than €100M available in the Energy Efficiency Call 2017, which has deadlines in January and June 2017. Save the date: On 14 September, we will present upcoming funding opportunities of Horizon 2020's Societal Challenge "Climate Action, Environment, Resource Efficiency and Raw Materials" at an Information Day in Brussels. Registration will open in July.

The European Commission is organising an Information Day on 14 September in Brussels to present the 2017 funding opportunities under Horizon 2020's Societal Challenge "Climate Action, Environment, Resource Efficiency and Raw Materials". The morning information sessions will be followed by a brokerage & matchmaking session to help applicants find the right project partners. Please register in advance (first come, first served).

 
International conference “Transition to the Green Economy”

Policy makers and stakeholders from academia, business and civil society will meet on 6 and 7 September in Bratislava to discuss pathways for a transition to a green economy at EU and national levels. The conference is organised under the auspices of the Slovak EU Presidency. Please register by 31 August.
