Empowering students as agents of change – project SHORE launches its first Open Call for schools to increase ocean literacy. The project will provide grants to 100 school projects on blue sustainability, offering up to 10,000 EUR per school.

Looking ahead to LIFE Programme highlights in the next 12 months.
The 37 selected large-scale cleantech projects will run in 14 European countries, including Austria, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Greece and Ireland. They have the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by over 200 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent during their first 10 years of operation.
17 small-scale innovative cleantech projects received support from the Innovation Fund. These funds will help companies in Europe, including small businesses, to bring breakthrough technologies to the market in energy-intensive industries, renewable energy, and energy storage.
Germany is the first Member State to participate in the EU's new “Auctions-as-a-Service”. EUR 350 million is available from Germany's national budget for hydrogen production in the country, in addition to the EUR 800 million foreseen for European projects from the Innovation Fund.

Thank you for respecting the deadline and have a look at the Appraisal toolbox designed to help you!
In line with the Human Resources Strategy, the Commission and the six EAs launched a second pilot for the exchange programme to build further opportunities for staff mobility and learning experiences. This second pilot allows for more flexibility and includes some enhancements. The deadline for registration is 9 February 2024 (midday).
Magda KOPCZYNSKA, Director General of DG MOVE will visit CINEA on 17 January. At this occasion, the CINEA WiN Network organises a special coffee with both Directors where you will have the opportunity to listen to their experience, ask questions about their careers, discover their most important values, discuss challenges and achievements, and more. The Director General will also meet the staff dealing with transport within the Agency.
As part of the EMAS BEST action, CINEA recently closed its building from 3-5 January. This initiative resulted in substantial energy savings and environmental benefits. The Green Team estimates than this short closure allowed us to save more than 4 MWh of electricity and more than 9 MWh of gas, resulting in savings of more than 1900 Kg of CO2.
