Interested in volunteering? Dedicated platform gets an upgrade

DG HR’s Corporate Social Responsibility team held a workshop with Belgian NGOs to explore new ways of cooperation in volunteering - including through the ‘EC Staff Volunteer for a Change’ online platform, which matches activities to people’s preferences. Find out more about the volunteering opportunities available to staff, as well as the platform and its novelties.

 
The Sustainable Energy Days are back!

As part of the European Sustainable Energy Week, the Sustainable Energy Days provide the perfect opportunity to give more visibility to local events and benefit from communication support! Events promoting clean energy and energy efficiency are eligible and may be organised online or onsite from March to June 2024 in Europe and beyond. Selected events will be featured on the interactive map and get visibility through EUSEW communication channels. The call is open until 31 May 23.59 CET.

 
EMFAF “Fishers of the Future” flagship study featuring in DG MARE Newsletter

A consortium of national researchers contracted by the Commission, have consulted fishers in all 22 coastal EU Member States to define who they are, how they live, and what drives them. The consultation is part of the Commission’s DG MARE foresight project on ‘Fishers of the Future’, launched in October 2023. As part of the project a survey has been launched as well as a participatory event organised by the Commission on Tuesday 19 March 2024, in Brussels and online.

 
H2020 EXHAUSTION project has come to an end

This four-year research project worked on the nexus between health and extreme heat effects, air pollution, heatwaves, forest fires, etc. The project prepared an interactive tool that visualizes climate change and how it will affect human lives in urban settings.

 
The first StoryMap by CINEA is now published!

The first interactive publication using the ArcGIS StoryMaps tool is available since 13 February. The tool illustrates the joint EU support to industrial carbon management and the synergies between three of our programmes: CEF Energy, the Innovation Fund and Horizon Europe (Climate and Energy).

 
European Hydrogen Bank pilot auction – call submission results

The pilot auction for renewable hydrogen production in Europe under the European Hydrogen Bank has attracted 132 bids from projects located in 17 European countries. Channelled through the Innovation Fund, the bids are competing for EUR 800 million of EU funding. CINEA colleagues are currently checking the admissibility and eligibility of the bids and they will start evaluating soon. Results will be out in Q2 2024.

6th Call of the European City Facility Open

The 6th Call for Application of the European City Facility (EUCF) until the 15th of March 2024. The 6th call has an overall budget of €4.5 million, financing 75 proposals. Eligible applicants are municipalities, local authorities, their groupings.
