Call for funding
The European Commission has approved the Interreg VI-B NEXT “Mediterranean Sea Basin” (NEXT MED) transnational cooperation programme involving 15 countries for an amount of €253 million of EU funding.
Five calls are currently open for project applications under four EU Mission areas - adaptation to climate change, climate-neutral and smart cities, restore our oceans and waters, and healthy soils.

Commission launched a call for applications for the renewal of the membership of the Innovation Fund Expert Group (IFEG). The Group needs new expertise due to the changes brought by the revised EU ETS Directive. With these changes the Innovation Fund will cover additional sectors (maritime, aviation, buildings and road transport sectors).
The Innovation Fund has EUR 3 billion available for large-scale clean tech projects. 100% funded by the EU ETS. Submit your proposal ahead of time to get the EU to invest in your industrial solutions to decarbonise Europe. Deadline of 16 March 2023.
The Cities Mission aims to deliver 100 climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030. Two calls are currently open (one Cities mission call worth EUR 70 million and a second joint call between the Cities Mission and the Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change worth EUR 40 million). Deadline of 27 April 2023.
The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership, co-funded by the European Union, has launched the first joint call for a thriving sustainable blue economy. The total estimated budget is about € 50 million.
The Sudoe Programme is a transnational cooperation programme between Spain, France, Portugal and the Principality of Andorra. The call is open in 3 priorities, with 7 objectives including climate change resilience, nature-based solutions, fight against pollution and sustainable tourism. Call opens March 1, 2023
First call for projects under priorities 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. The main objective of this Program is to contribute to strengthening cross-border cooperation between the participating regions and the transformation into a competitive and sustainable area from a European and Mediterranean perspective.
Eleven new calls for proposals under this Mission have been opened for submission on 17 January 2023 with a total budget over €87.7 million. In addition, two joint calls with other missions with a total budget of 31 million were launched: OCEAN-SOIL and CLIMA-OCEAN-SOIL.

The European Sustainable Energy Week will take place from 20 to 22 June in a hybrid format. The ongoing call to organise a session and is open to public authorities, energy agencies, industry associations, businesses, civil society organisations, the media, etc. The format of the sessions is up to you (presentation, workshop, panel discussion, etc.) – a creative approach is encouraged! Deadline to apply: 1 February.
