CEF aims to make Europe a connected and digital place through the promotion of Building Blocks that can ease the daily work of Public Entities and Private Businesses.

What are these Building Blocks about?

• eID: extending the use of online services to citizens of other EU Member States
• eInvoicing: making it easier to do business with the public sector (deadline to apply directive: 18 April 2019)
• eSignature: making signature paperless
• eDelivery: creating a secure and reliable message exchange infrastructure 
• eTranslation: exchanging information across languages in the EU Member States

And the three new ones:

• eArchiving: preserving, migrating and reusing data using common specifications
• Context Broker: analysing, sharing, managing and using data in real time at the right time throughout Europe
• Big Data Infrastructure: analysing mass-data into one unique platform.
