The 2022 edition of the interactive publication The European economy since the start of the millennium has been released today.

This publication gives an overview of how the European economy has evolved since 2000 for a large range of data, answering questions such as: How has our consumption behaviour changed? How has household income evolved? Are working patterns still the same? What is the share of services in the economy? What is the proportion of large enterprises? Has government employment increased or decreased?

Answers to these questions and many more can be found in this publication through short texts and interactive visualisations, where you can compare your country with other countries.

This 2022 edition describes the situation up to the year 2021 at the most. It already shows the impact of the COVID-19 crisis for many indicators. For the most up-to-date information on short-term indicators including COVID-19 related implications, please see the Euro indicators dashboard and the COVID-19 dedicated section on the Eurostat website.
