DomiSML 4.3.2 now available & extended support for WebLogic deployments

DomiSML 4.3.2 was released on . This maintenance release updates third-party libraries to their latest minor versions and addresses any critical issues identified since December 2024, when the last version in the 4.3.x product line was released. It is intended for users who are currently operating DomiSML in production environments relying on WebLogic.

The download and upgrade resources are available on the DomiSML 4.3.2 release page.

Context and compatibility

DomiSML is the sample implementation of the eDelivery Service Metadata Locator (SML), which is the part of the eDelivery infrastructure enabling dynamic service discovery across distributed messaging networks.

On , the new DomiSML 5.0 version became available. It introduced significant changes to service discovery architecture, including modernisation of the technology stack (Java 21, Jakarta EE 10), improved administration tools, enhanced performance and new configuration options. However, DomiSML 5.0 currently only supports Tomcat 10.1 as its application server.

Because WebLogic servers are not yet supported in DomiSML 5.0, the eDelivery team maintains the 4.3.x product line to provide organisations with an alternative that remains compatible with their existing WebLogic-based infrastructure.

Support period extended

To ensure continued support for organisations relying on WebLogic, maintenance of DomiSML 4.3.x will continue until three months after a Jakarta EE 10-compatible version of DomiSML 5.0.x becomes available. This guarantees access to updates and fixes while waiting for Oracle to deliver Jakarta EE 10 support in WebLogic 15.1.1, expected in 2025. Based on current plans, this means support for 4.3.x will be available at least until the end of March 2026.

Which DomiSML version should I use?

  • Organisations using Tomcat 10.1 are encouraged to upgrade to DomiSML 5.0, which provides a more modern and efficient platform for service discovery.
  • Organisations depending on WebLogic 12cR2 or 14c should remain on DomiSML 4.3.x, and upgrade to DomiSML 4.3.2 to benefit from the latest supported libraries and critical fixes.
