The European DIGITAL SME Alliance has launched a call for applications to the 2024 DIGITAL SME awards . These awards recognise and celebrate small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that are making a positive impact on Europe’s digitalisation and sustainable digital economy. SMEs can submit their solutions in the categories green, society, and skills until 10 October 2024.
The European DIGITAL SME Alliance is a large European network of SMEs in the information and communication technologies (ICT) domain. The Alliance is a joint effort of 30 national and regional SME associations from EU Member States and neighbouring countries, representing more than 45,000 companies.
Individual technical components of the Once-Only Technical System may be strong candidates in the selection of the 2024 DIGITAL SME awards , notably the OOTS Common Services. The award category society is particularly interesting for SMEs whose solutions have positively contributed to society and achieved social well-being and inclusiveness. Solutions in this category may be e-government solutions that enhance citizen engagement and improve public services, local or regional developments that foster well-being through digitally enabled services, or ethically deployed technology that enhances accountability and privacy. Technical components of the Once-Only Technical System may be part of solutions in all these fields.
The Once-Only Technical System will simplify the life of European citizens and businesses by enabling the automated exchange of official documents and data between public authorities when completing cross-border administrative procedures. It will facilitate numerous events in the life of citizens – from moving abroad to applying for university, registering a vehicle or opening a business. As such, the Once-Only Technical System improves efficiency, makes people’s lives easier, and reduces the costs of mobility in the Single Market. Therefore, solutions applying the Once-Only Technical System are strongly encouraged to give their shot at the 2024 DIGITAL SME awards.
Winners of the awards will be celebrated at the 2024 DIGITAL SME summit, which will take place on 10 December 2024 in Brussels. This high-level event will feature awards ceremonies for each category, in which the winners will be revelled for the positive outcomes brought about by their solutions and recognized as role models for promoting inclusion, diversity and equity in the digital sector.
