Atlantic Forum workshop - Cork, Research and innovation, ports and overview of the Action Plan, 4-5 March 2013

The European Commission has been organizing workshops with the Atlantic Member States to ensure awareness of the Atlantic Forum and EU funding processes. The objective of this is to support the Atlantic Action Plan and to assist stakeholders in coming forward with well-prepared projects.

date:  08/02/2013

So far four workshops have been held: Horta (Azores), Brest (France), Bilbao (Spain) and, last month, Cardiff (UK). The next workshop will be held in Cork (Ireland) on the 4th and 5th March 2013 with 'Research and Innovation, Atlantic Ports and the Atlantic Action Plan' being the main themes.

The session on 4th March will show how research and innovation is driving the Atlantic Strategy. Furthermore, following feedback from previous workshops, there will also be a half-day parallel session on Atlantic Ports. On the 5th March, there will be an opportunity to discuss the draft Atlantic Action Plan along with the key issues of funding and implementation.

The success of the Cork workshop will be dependent on a broad and wide participation coming from across all Atlantic Member States. All interested stakeholders are therefore encouraged to participate.
