The event is a great opportunity for the region's maritime players to develop partnerships, further existing projects and create new ones. Regional stakeholders from business, research, academia and training institutes, ports as well as national and local authorities of the western Mediterranean Countries are all encouraged to join. Projects are eligible for support under the Assistance Mechanism set up by the European Commission to boost the implementation of the WestMED Initiative. The Conference is organised by the European Commission and the Co-Presidency of the Initiative for the sustainable development of the blue economy in the western Mediterranean.
