EUMOFA Monthly Highlights n°2/2017

First sales in Europe – overall in 2016, the revenues of EU fisheries were higher, albeit with lower volumes of fish landed. In 2016, the top species were: Norway lobster, sole, herring, mackerel, monk, scallop, hake and cod.

Oysters in the EU: France is by far the largest EU producer and exporter of oysters. In 2015, the country was responsible for 80% of the total extra-EU exports. | The Polish Market: the Polish fish processing industry, one of the largest in the EU, was valued at EUR 1,78 billion in 2014.| Consumption: fresh scabbardfish.| Marine fuel prices averaged 0,45 EUR/litre in February 2017.
