The Commissioner is expected to launch the Atlantic Action Plan, which focuses on EU policies on regional development and research towards blue growth, while a Joint EU-USA-Canada Declaration will be signed targeting wider transatlantic research partnership. The event is organised by the Irish Presidency and the European Commission and will also be attended by Ms Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, the EU Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science, Mr Enda Kenny T.D., Prime Minister of Ireland and representatives from EU Atlantic Coastal States, Canada and the USA.
