EMD 2018 Stakeholder INFO DAY

The next stop of the European Maritime Day cruise is on 31st of May and 1st of June 2018 in Burgas, on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast. To present next year's EMD headline themes and involve stakeholders in shaping this upcoming event, we are pleased to invite you to the EMD Info Day on 9 October 2017 at the Bulgarian Permanent Representation in Brussels, Square Marie-Louise 49. Participants will be able to join our interactive round table discussions and provide direct input and suggestions for the organisation of next year’s event.

Europe’s maritime community will sail set for Poole, UK, on 18 & 19 May for the 10th edition of the European Maritime Day. The conference is the annual get together for maritime public authorities, NGOs, industries and marine scientists. This year’s theme is 'The Future of Our Seas'.

Let's celebrate the 10th European Maritime Day

The 10th European Maritime Day will be held in Poole, UK (18 & 19 May 2017). It will be followed by the Poole Maritime Festival (15-21 May 2017), dedicated to engaging the general public and celebrating Poole and Dorset's local maritime heritage and environment. If you will not be able to come to Poole, check the list with the 27 EMD events across the EU to spot an event near you to celebrate the 10th European Maritime Day.

European Maritime Day 2017: preparations in full swing

Preparations for the EMD 2017 Conference in Poole, UK (18 & 19 May 2017) are in full swing. Following our call to maritime stakeholders launched last fall, we have received 50 proposals for workshops and project pitches under the following headings: 1) Innovation & Growth, 2) People & Skills, 3) Safety & Security, 4) Sustainability & Governance. Selected stakeholder workshops will be part of an attractive programme that we are currently putting together and which will be announced soon.

 
European Maritime Day 2017 - Stakeholder Info Day in Brussels, 25 October 2016

European Maritime Day (EMD) is the annual meeting point for Europe’s maritime community to network, discuss and plan joint action. The EMD 2017 conference and exhibition will be held on 18-19 May 2017 in Poole, UK. In preparation for EMD, an INFO DAY meeting for Maritime Stakeholders will take place in Brussels, on 25 October 2016, at 14:00.

European Maritime Day - taking Blue Growth to the next level

Blue growth is here to stay, concluded the 1200 marine and maritime economy stakeholders who gathered in Turku, Finland, last week to celebrate the 9th edition of the European Maritime Days. “A sustainable marine economy is not a dream, it is a reality”, said Commissioner Karmenu Vella in the Opening Session of the conference. “Across Europe – he went on - people are working hard on innovation and pushing boundaries”. European Commission Vice-President Katainen listed a number of blue economy projects already selected for EFSI support, stressing the importance of new investments for all maritime innovations.
