On the one hand, maritime sectors are increasingly exploring green solutions, which can deliver more and better jobs. On the other hand, the industry suffers from a lack of professionals with the right skills and competences.

Commissioner Vella will open the event by presenting the initiatives taken so far by the Commission to support both industry and education to tackle this challenge. This will be followed by a discussion among representatives of industry, education and public authorities to address the main bottlenecks for the coming years and to identify ways forward.
