Next stop for the #FARMEDintheEU campaign: Madrid

Next week Spain is celebrating the Day of Aquaculture (Día de la Acuicultura). This year there is a special focus on sustainability with the campaign 'Say Yes to Sustainable Aquaculture' which has been launched on September 2016 by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food and Environment. Spain is also the first Member State to have launched a school project within the communication campaign #FARMEDintheEU

date:  22/11/2016

The #CRIADOenlaUE school project has involved hundreds of students who met with producers and scientists across all the regions of Spain. The best school projects carried out by teenagers and the best drawings created by pupils will be rewarded in a joint event organised by the Fundación Biodiversidad (Observatorio Español de Acuicultura (OESA)) and the European Commission. Top representatives of the sector will also discuss how to communicate better about aquaculture.

The event will take place at the Museo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (MUNCYT), Madrid on Monday 28.

Spain is one of the most advanced Member States in aquaculture research and the EU leader in aquaculture economy with 20.000 producers (out of 85.000 in total in the EU).
