Since the launch of the Blue Growth Strategy by the European Commission in 2012, significant achievements have been made and the blue economy has taken great strides towards increasing employment and growth, while adding value in advancing sustainability. The boom in offshore wind energy, which is currently employing more than 75,000 Europeans, is but one example of this.
