The information guides were developed with WWF, and will be sent to fish markets and points of sale all over Italy where consumers can easily refer to them when buying fish. They focus on the importance of respecting minimum fish sizes to allow undersized fish to reproduce - the theme is "Che pesci pigliare – No ai pesci sotto taglia!" ("Choose your fish – No fish smaller than the legal size!"). In parallel, the guides will be distributed to regional authorities and the coast guard to further raise awareness of sustainability issues. The dissemination is done in partnership with the Italian Ministry in charge of fisheries.

Besides launching the guides at the Salone del Gusto, the Commission will also host a booth where visitors will find material on making the right seafood choices, including informational quizzes and games for young people. The global event is organised by Slow Food and the Terra Madre network of small producers every two years and seeks to promote good, clean and fair food.
