A total of 277 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from 25 countries have been selected for funding under the latest round of the EIC SME Instrument. The companies will receive a total amount of €13.7 million to share between their projects to get their innovations faster on the market.
Do you have research results worthy of being exploited? But when it comes to the next stage of commercialising or setting up a company, are unsure of how to take the first step? MERLIN, as part of the EU’s Innovation Radar initiative, is your opportunity to take you and your research results to the next level.
EIC FET-Open project STARDUST will deliver a conceptually new device for in vivo optogenetics, electrophysiology and triggered local drug-delivery for Parkinson’s Disease.
FET-Open-funded researchers are developing pioneering tools and techniques that will enable scientists to view chromosomes in unprecedented detail, greatly advancing research into life-saving treatments for cancer and cures for many genetic disorders.
People are increasingly interacting with intelligent technology, as the real and digital worlds become intertwined. The EIC FET-Open project is working to bring new forms of human-machine collaboration into real-life educational settings for healthcare providers that will benefit students, trainers and patients.
Precision measurements of atmospheric conditions is a challenging but important task. One solution are laser based measurement systems. These enable precision wind velocity measurements for wind shear detection and the optimization of wind farm turbines. In addition, greenhouse gas concentrations can be measured from satellite based laser systems.
The FET-Open project SYMBIOTIC works towards the development of an autonomous, low cost, disposable electrochemical biosensor for the early detection of cancer.
The storage of energy at temperatures higher than 1000 °C using molten silicon-based alloys is the objective of the FET-Open project AMADEUS, which will create a new generation of extremely compact and lower cost energy storage devices.
The FET-Open project ByAxon is developing a new generation of sensors and electrodes for neural interfacing, bringing together both nano- and neuro- science.
All you need to know for the next deadline for submission of FET Innovation Launchpad proposals under the Horizon 2020 Future and Emerging Technologies (FET-Open) programme
The goal of the FET-Open Innovation Launchpad project SensAgain is to restore sensations from lost legs, for health and quality of life augmentation in amputees
The LiRichFCC project will explore an entirely new class of materials for electrochemical energy storage termed “Li-rich FCC” comprising a very high concentration of lithium in a cubic dense packed structure (FCC).
Examples of the highly ambitious targets ahead of the successful FET-Open proposals include a super-resolution microscope in a microfluidic chip smaller than a coin, a novel GPS-free positioning technology, the non-invasive imaging of biochemical processes in the human body, and building a 3D muscle on a chip.
Spanning seven years (2014 - 2020) and with a budget of €77 billion, Horizon 2020 is the biggest EU research and innovation funding programme ever. It is implemented via multi-annual work programmes.
