Startup Europe comes to Silicon Valley (SEC2SV) - the premier programme for future European startup unicorns to engage with key US industry players will take place for the third year running. This annual event, organised by EIT Digital and Mind the Bridge, brings together EU policy makers and 15 of the fastest growing European scaleups to meet Silicon Valley stakeholders during a highly interactive week of local presentations and meetings. European scaleups can apply until 31 May.

 
Commission appoints new advisory group on ethics in science and new technologies

The European Commission has today officially re-launched the European Group on Ethics in Science and New Technologies (EGE) by appointing 15 high-calibre members. The Group will advise the Commission on all areas of policy where ethical, societal and fundamental rights issues intersect with the development of science and new technologies.

Commission launches the 2017 European Capital of Innovation contest

Carlos Moedas, EU Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation, launched the third edition of the European Capital of Innovation prize. This contest will reward the European city that is building the best 'innovation ecosystem', connecting citizens, public organisations, academia, and business.

 
Apply now for EIT Health’s European Health Catapult Competition

The new European Health Catapult Competition has been launched. Startups and SMEs in Medtech, Biotech and Digital health can now apply through the webpage. The Competition gives you the chance to mature your business plan and pitching skills, to gain access to a large network of experts and investors, to attend a 2 day training, to benefit from the total of 135,000 € value awarded and to present your business idea at the EIT Health Summit in London. Application deadline: 30 April 2017

 
EIT Digital ARISE Europe Open Call for Innovation Centers

The EIT Digital ARISE Europe program, which is part of the EIT Regional Innovation Scheme, carries out business innovation projects with its local partners, bringing together investors, startups and SMEs. Any interested organization is invited to apply and have the chance of being connected to the largest Pan-European digital Innovation ecosystem. The deadline for applications is April 30, 2017.
