3rd Virtual Physiological Human Summer School

The Virtual Physiological Human (VPH) Summer School offers keynote lectures of world-class international researchers and hands-on training on computer modelling. Commission proposes most ambitious Research and Innovation programme so far

For the next long-term EU budget 2021-2027, the Commission today proposed €100 billion for research and innovation. The new programme – Horizon Europe – will build on the achievements and success of the previous research and innovation programme (Horizon 2020) and keep the EU at the forefront of global research and innovation. Horizon Europe is the most ambitious research and innovation programme ever.

 
ACTIVAGE at IoT Week 2018

During IoT Week 2018, the EU-funded ACTIVAGE Large Scale Pilot will present its vision and achievements regarding Internet of Things for active and healthy ageing (AHA-IoT). The project will pre-announce its Open Call for proposals of new AHA-IoT services and solutions, and SMEs and H2020 projects can discuss engagement in the ACTIVAGE AHA-IoT ecosystem.

 
C3 Cloud: addressing multi-morbidity with ICT infrastructure

With a budget of almost €5 Million, the EU-funded C3-Cloud project will establish an ICT infrastructure facilitating a collaborative care and cure cloud to enable continuous coordination of patient-centred care activities by a multidisciplinary care team or informal care givers.

 
City4Age - The ultimate city for the elderly population

The European funded City4Age project aims to make cities more age-friendly. It will create innovative ICT tools and services for early detection of risks related to frailty and of Mild Cognitive Impairments (MCI). The services will be tested in several European cities, as well as in Singapore.

 
Commission proposes biggest ever investment for a R&I programme in Europe

Today the Commission presented its long-term budget proposal for the 2021-2027 period. Building on the success of the EU's past flagship research and innovation programmes, the Commission proposes to increase investment in research and innovation by allocating €114.8 billion from the future long-term EU budget.

 
Commission launches EIC Horizon Prize for Early Warning for Epidemics

The European Commission today launched a €5 million prize to find the best solution for setting up an early warning system for epidemics. It is one of six European Innovation Council (EIC) Horizon Prizes, which are part of the European Innovation Council pilot run under Horizon 2020, the EU's Research and Innovation Framework Programme.

 
EIT Cross-Innovation Community Business Idea Competition 2018

Turn your idea into business. The Business Idea Competition 2018 seeks at supporting idea holders aiming at embracing the venture path and wanting more training in entrepreneurship. It is jointly organised by EIT Health, EIT RawMaterials and EIT Food to improve cross-sectoral innovation performance, with a special focus on - but not limited to - EIT RIS eligible countries, along the following thematic areas: Food, Health and Raw Materials.

 
Commission launches the 2018 European Capital of Innovation contest

Carlos Moedas, Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation, opened the 2018 European Capital of Innovation contest at the EU Covenant of Mayors Ceremony in the European Parliament. The winning city will be awarded a prize of €1 million to further promote and enhance its innovative actions. Applications can be submitted until 21 June 2018.

Europe has a unique opportunity to lead the next wave of breakthrough innovation where digital technologies meet the physical world in areas such as digital manufacturing, genomics, artificial intelligence or the Internet of Things, penetrating all sectors of economy and society. But it needs to translate its global scientific leadership into innovation and entrepreneurial leadership.
