EIC Pilot to invest €124 million in 38 new high-risk innovative projects

The European Innovation Council (EIC) pilot will support 38 innovative projects to develop new ideas towards radically new future technologies. In total, the projects will receive €124 million under the future and emerging technologies (FET Open) strand of the EIC pilot, run under the EU’s research and innovation programme Horizon 2020.

 
EU loan helps kick-start construction of floating wind farm off the coast of Portugal

he European Investment Bank today signed an agreement with the WindPlus consortium to provide a €60 million loan for installing a wind farm that will float in deep waters off the Portuguese coast. The loan will come from the InnovFin Energy Demonstration Projects facility (InnovFin EDP), which is funded under the EU’s research and innovation programme Horizon 2020.

 
Compete for the Trillium-II prize

The Trillium-II Prize will be awarded to the organisation that has done the most to promote the beneficial use of the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources International Patient Summary (FHIR IPS) for international medical information exchanges. Deadline to apply: 1 May 2019.

EU provides €20 million in grants to support innovative businesses in Bulgaria, Latvia and Romania

The European Commission is supporting EBRD Pilot Action entitled ‘Innovation Support in Bulgaria, Latvia and Romania’, with €20 million in grants with the objective of addressing investment gaps in innovation and helping innovative SMEs and midcaps in these countries. The pilot action will provide a comprehensive package of finance (loans), advisory support and measures to promote green technologies.
