JRC science for policy report "Non-ferrous Metals Manufacturing: Vision for 2050 and Actions Needed"

The European non-ferrous metals manufacturing industry is a strategic sector. It employs 500,000 people and supplies products for many downstream industrial sectors. The industry's investment horizon spans decades so it needs a long-term strategic perspective.

The JRC's foresight study used a qualitative methodology which engaged various stakeholders. The aim was to define a 2050 vision for the industry. As part of the vision, actions were proposed. They focus on challenges in trade, innovation, resources, business integrity and skills.
