INTERNAL MARKET, INDUSTRY, ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND SMES - 2024 European Capital and Green Pioneer of Smart Tourism competitions: Open for applications!

On European Tourism Day on 5 May, the Commission launched two competitions to promote smart and sustainable tourism in the EU, strengthen destinations, and facilitate the exchange of best practices: the European Capital of Smart Tourism and the European Green Pioneer of Smart Tourism.

Our objective is to encourage cities to become more sustainable, digital, creative and accessible by recognising destinations that have implemented successful strategies to boost smart and sustainable tourism. See the 2023 report of “Leading examples of Smart Tourism Practices in Europe”.

This year there will be only one winning city in the European Capital of Smart Tourism 2024 and one smaller city will hold the title of the European Green Pioneer of Smart Tourism in 2024.
