The European Commission has asked EMISIA (Greece), FEV (Germany), TNO (Netherlands) and HSDAC (Germany) to investigate 'current sound emission levels of M- and N-category vehicles and propose possible new (improved) sound level limits for M- and N-category vehicles'.

The study aims at obtaining the technical background needed to review and possibly update these sound level limits.

We are asking stakeholders to contribute by providing feedback via one of two questionnaires, each of which is targeted at different stakeholders:

• Questionnaire for technical entities (e.g. national type-approval authorities and market surveillance authorities, technical services, industry, technical research organisations)
• Questionnaire for social partners (e.g. associations of citizens, users, automotive professionals other than industry)
