The workshops gave participants the chance to learn first-hand from towns and cities that have successfully implemented initiatives, and get some insight into the challenges that they overcame.
Participants were able to pick up practical tips, learn about sources of finance and network, so that they can prepare solutions or create a successful local retail strategy for their own small retailers.

Workshops also took place in Brussels (12 February 2019), Vienna (4 April 2019) and Bucharest (16 May 2019).
The workshops are part of the Single Market Forum 2018/2019.
