The European Commission, the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) and the European Chemical Regions Network (ECRN) are organising our latest event. We are pleased to invite you to the final conference on the European sustainable chemicals support service – Phase 2 'Exploring how capturing and re-using currently emitted industrial gases could be stimulated through industrial symbiosis'.

Chemicals

date:  27/09/2018

venue:  ECRN, Boulevard St. Michel 80 - 1040 Brussels - (Belgium)

Organiser:  The European Commission, EASME and the ECRN

The conference will explore how to apply the topic on the regional and European level. Reusing industrial gas emissions to manufacture sustainable chemicals contributes to the circular economy, reduces dependency on imports and strengthens industry integration.

Central to the conference is a project that has worked to put this work into practice. The project was led by a consortium of institutions, consultants and executed with the help of 4 model demonstrator regions:

  • Antwerp (Belgium)
  • Limburg (the Netherlands)
  • Lodz (Poland)
  • Varna (Bulgaria)

The outcomes of the project will be presented, followed by presentations and panel discussion of the key policy lessons as learnt. Part of the presentation is a self-assessment tool, which can be used to evaluate your own region's investment readiness level to produce chemicals sustainably.
