The EU Circular Economy Action Plan aims at the promotion of efficient use of bio-based resources, including better knowledge sharing and further research. The Commission has started the development of the guidance of non-binding nature on cascading use of biomass. It will provide  generic principles and best practice examples primarily on woody biomass to support stakeholders active in the field in Europe. The guidance will be available late 2018.
